David Mackintosh is no longer an MP, as Parliament has been dissolved, and is not seeking re-election.
David was elected as the Member of Parliament for Northampton South in May 2015. He had previously served as Leader of Northampton Borough Council for four years and as a Northamptonshire County Councillor for eight years.
David became the youngest ever Leader of Northampton Borough Council in November 2011 and had previously served as Cabinet member for Community Services on Northamptonshire County Council.
David was born in Northampton and grew up in the county. He attended Roade School before studying at the University of Durham.
He lives in Great Billing and is actively involved in the local community. David is a Patron of The Hope Centre in Northampton helping homeless people in the town and a Patron of The Caring and Sharing Trust in Northampton working with people who have learning disabilities.
In Parliament, David served as a member of the Communities and Local Government Select Committee and the Armed Forces Parliamentary Scheme.
