Cllr David Mackintosh has announced that the people’s tenor, Alfie Boe, has been announced as the second headline act to perform at next summer’s Alive@Delapre concerts.
Music lovers will get the chance to enjoy Alfie Boe performing in the open air on Sunday, July 19 in the historic setting of Delapre Park.
Britain’s favourite tenor, Alfie’s distinctive voice has helped him conquer the world’s most prestigious opera stages, led the cast of Les Miserables for nearly a year, and stolen the show at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Concert at Buckingham Palace.
Cllr David Mackintosh, Conservative parliamentary candidate for Northampton South, said: “Alfie Boe is the perfect act for a warm summer Sunday evening in Northampton. Our Alive@Delapre concerts continue to attract the best British musicians and performers.
“Alfie has played in some amazing opera houses and theatres, and I am sure the picturesque setting of the grounds of Delapre Abbey will be just as special as we welcome him to our town.”
Always striving to bring good music to different audiences, Boe has succeeded in winning hundreds of thousands of fans, and achieving platinum album sales in the UK, as well as four top 10 albums and three sold-out UK tours (including performances at the Royal Festival Hall and the Royal Albert Hall).
Last month the singer released his new album Serenata, a beautiful collection of romantic Italian songs.
