Boost for veterans fighting for Mesothelioma compensation

David Mackintosh has welcomed an announcement by the Government on extending compensation to veterans who are suffering from Mesothelioma.

The Conservative MP for Northampton South initially raised this matter in the House of Commons on 19th November, but he has pledged to keep fighting for some veterans who will not be included in the scheme including Fred Minall who lives in Northampton.

David said: “I am very pleased with the outcome from the Government but I remain disappointed that around 60 veterans, including my constituent, Fred,  who are currently in receipt of a War Disablement Pension for Mesothelioma and so will be unable to apply for the new lump sum compensation award. I have asked for a meeting with the Veterans Minister to keep fighting for Fred.”
