Ecton Brook children visit Parliament

A group of schoolchildren from Ecton Brook have visited the Houses of Parliament to learn more about the work of their local MP, David Mackintosh.

The students were invited by the Conservative MP for Northampton South who showed them around the iconic London landmark and explained more about his role in Parliament.

The tour included the House of Lords, Westminster Hall and they even got the chance to sit in the public gallery to watch a questions session in the House of Commons.

David Mackintosh was thrilled the local children showed such a keen interest into politics and said: “It’s always a privilege to show people from Northampton around Parliament, but I was particularly impressed by how engaged the children were with everything I showed them.

“They asked lots of questions and were very excited to visit some of the rooms they’ve all seen on the television.”
